Description

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada pengembangan kreativitas dan inovasi yang berfokus
penerapan konsep recycle dan upcycle denim pada busana edgy style aplikasi teknik
handpainting inspirasi mawar biru. Konsep recycle dan upcycle pada perancangan busana
dapat menjadi upaya untuk mendukung industri busana yang berkelanjutan sehingga
dapat meningkatkan nilai fungsi dan ekonomi dari limbah denim. Material denim
memiliki estetika warna yang dapat direpresentasikan melalui bentuk visual dari bunga
mawar biru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menambah inovasi dan estetika bentuk visual
pada koleksi busana edgy style yang dapat meningkatkan nilai fungsi berkelanjutan dan
ekonomi dari limbah pakaian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode double diamond atau
model berlian ganda, yaitu kerangka kerja desain yang membagi proses kreatif menjadi
empat tahap: discover (menemukan), define (mendefinisikan), develop (mengembangkan),
dan deliver (menyampaikan). Hasil proses penciptaan ini berupa empat busana ready to
wear deluxe disajikan pada event Bandung Fashion Runway tanggal 30 April 2025 di
Studio 1 TVRI Jawa Barat.

This research is based on the development of creativity and innovation, focusing on the
application of recycling and upcycling concepts to denim in edgy-style fashion design
through handpainting techniques inspired by the blue rose. The concept of recycling and
upcycling in fashion design can serve as an effort to support a sustainable fashion
industry, thereby increasing the functional and economic value of denim waste. Denim
material has a distinctive color aesthetic that can be represented through the visual form
of the blue rose. The purpose of this research is to enhance innovation and visual
aesthetics in an edgy-style fashion collection that contributes to sustainable functionality
and the economic value of discarded clothing. This study uses the double diamond
method, a design framework that divides the creative process into four stages: discover,
define, develop, and deliver. The result of this creation process is four deluxe ready-towear
fashion pieces presented at the Bandung Fashion Runway event on April 30, 2025,
at Studio 1 TVRI West Java.
