Penelitian ini membahas fenomena volunterisme di kalangan mahasiswa melalui studi pada Sekolah Budaya Adhikari (SBA) di Kota Bandung. Bertujuan untuk memahami motivasi utama mahasiswa dalam keterlibatannya sebagai volunter serta faktor-faktor yang mendorong keberlanjutan maupun berakhirnya keterlibatan mereka. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teori hierarki kebutuhan Abraham Maslow. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap volunter yang telah aktif selama1,5 tahun sampai 3 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan mahasiswa sebagai volunter didorong oleh motivasi yang berakar dari lima tingkat kebutuhan Maslow, mulai dari kebutuhan fisiologis hingga aktualisasi diri. Faktor-faktor yang mendorong keberlanjutan dan berakhirnya keterlibatan volunter di Sekolah Budaya Adhikari selama 1,5 sampai 3 tahun yaitu: 1) lingkungan sosial yang hangat dan suportif, 2) dukungan teman dan keterikatan emosional, 3) pengembangan diri dan aktualisasi potensi melalui keterlibatan di SBA, Sementara itu, faktor yang menyebabkan volunter memilih untuk mengurangi keterlibatan atau berhenti dari SBA, yaitu: 1) ketidakmerataan dalam apresiasi, 2)masalah jarak dan biaya, 3) hilangnya dukungan sosial internal.

This study discusses the phenomenon of volunteerism among students through a study at Sekolah Budaya Adhikari (SBA) in Bandung City. It aims to understand the main motivations of students in their involvement as volunteers and the factors that drive the continuation or termination of their involvement. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of volunteers who have been active for 1.5 years to 3 years. The results of the study indicate that student involvement as volunteers is driven by motivations rooted in Maslow's five levels of needs, ranging from physiological needs to self-actualization. Factors that drive the continuation and termination of volunteer involvement at Sekolah Budaya Adhikari for 1.5 to 3 years are: 1) a warm and supportive social environment, 2) support from friends and emotional attachment, 3) self-development and actualization of potential through involvement in SBA, Meanwhile, factors that cause volunteers to choose to reduce involvement or quit SBA, namely: 1) inequality in appreciation, 2) distance and cost issues, 3) loss of internal social support.
