Beneath the Surface of the Mind’s Eye merupakan film fiksi pendek yang menyoroti
isu kesehatan mental pada remaja melalui pendekatan visual yang kuat. Cerita
berfokus pada seorang remaja yang mengalami tekanan emosional dan krisis
identitas, yang divisualisasikan melalui teknik sinematografi dinamis dan ekspresif.
Penggunaan gerakan slow track in/out memperkuat nuansa keterasingan dan
pencarian jati diri, sementara teknik handheld camera menciptakan kesan labil dan
cemas—merefleksikan gejolak batin yang tidak menentu. Transisi antara dunia
nyata dan imajinasi diperkuat lewat gerakan pan horizontal, yang
merepresentasikan pergeseran perspektif karakter terhadap realitas.
Teknik Handheld juga dibeberapa scene digunakan untuk membawa penonton
lebih dekat ke momen-momen emosional yang intens, sedangkan closeup

slow track in/out movements strengthens the nuances of alienation and the search
for identity, while the handheld camera technique creates an impression of
instability and anxiety—reflecting uncertain inner turmoil. The transition between
the real world and imagination is strengthened through horizontal pan movements,
which represent the shift in the character’s perspective on reality. The handheld
