Minimalisme semakin populer seiring kesadaran untuk mengurangi barang.
Meskipun tren minimalisme menawarkan solusi untuk menciptakan ruang yang
lebih tenang dan fungsional, tantangan untuk melepaskan barang dengan nilai
sentimental tetap menjadi hambatan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada konflik idealisme
seorang anak dalam mengubah pandangan ibunya terhadap gaya hidup
minimalisme. Judul naskah , The Art of Letting Go, menggambarkan proses
melepaskan yang berkaitan dengan kenangan sentimental yang sulit dihapus. Cerita
ini relevan dengan kehidupan modern, mengangkat konflik emosional antara
keterikatan sentimental pada barang dan filosofi minimalisme. Daya tarik utama
terletak pada perjalanan transformasi karakter, penyampaian pesan solutif, serta
visualisasi kontras antara kekacauan akibat penumpukan barang dan kedamaian
yang tercapai melalui penerapan prinsip minimalisme. Penciptaan karya naskah ini
mencakup perumusan konsep cerita dan menerapkan struktur 3 babak.
Menggunakan metode penelitian kulitatif dengan observasi dan wawancara.
Melalui tahap pra produksi dengan mencari ide dan konsep, menentukan konflik
cerita, membuat struktur dramatik, development karakter, dan membuat treatment.
Hasilnya adalah naskah yang menggambarkan konflik idealisme tokoh utama
dalam merenovasi rumah keluarga dengan konsep minimalisme, namun terhalang
oleh ibunya yang enggan melepaskan barang kenangan almarhum bapak. Melalui
perjalanan emosionalnya, tokoh utama berusaha menjembatani perbedaan
pandangan tersebut, yang menjadi inti dari naskah The Art of Letting Go.

Minimalism is increasingly popular as awareness of reducing belongings
increases. Although the minimalist trend offers solutions to create calmer and more
functional spaces, the challenge of letting go of items with sentimental value
remains an obstacle. This study focuses on the conflict of a child's idealism in
changing his mother's views on the minimalist lifestyle. The title of the script, The
Art of Letting Go, describes the process of letting go related to sentimental
memories that are difficult to erase. This story is relevant to modern life, raising
the emotional conflict between sentimental attachment to goods and the philosophy
of minimalism. The main attraction lies in the journey of character transformation,
the delivery of a solution message, and the visualization of the contrast between the
chaos caused by the accumulation of goods and the peace achieved through the
application of minimalist principles. The creation of this script includes
formulating a story concept and implementing a 3-act structure. Using qualitative
research methods with observation and interviews. Through the pre-production
stage by looking for ideas and concepts, determining story conflicts, creating
dramatic structures, character development, and creating treatments. The result is
a script that describes the conflict of the main character's idealism in renovating
the family home with a minimalist concept, but is hindered by his mother who is
reluctant to let go of his late father's memorabilia. Through his emotional journey,
the main character tries to bridge these differences of opinion, which is the core of
the script of The Art of Letting Go.
