Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi cara ekspresi dalam hubungan tiga peran anggota keluarga yang dihadirkan dalam film Take The Reins. Fokus utama dari studi ini adalah pada penerapan teknik sinematografi, yang mencakup pergerakan kamera yang dinamis, penerapan prinsip rule of thirds, serta penggunaan pencahayaan low key, untuk menggambarkan dinamika emosional antara karakter-karakter utama. Film ini mengangkat tema hubungan sosial dalam keluarga, dengan penekanan pada ketegangan yang muncul antara ayah, anak, dan kakek, yang disebabkan oleh pola asuh otoriter yang diterapkan oleh Hendra, sang ayah, terhadap anaknya, Damar. Dengan mengadopsi pendekatan kualitatif dan metode penciptaan practice-led research, penelitian ini tidak hanya menganalisis elemen-elemen visual seperti komposisi gambar, pergerakan kamera, dan pencahayaan, tetapi juga melibatkan proses kreatif dalam penciptaan adegan-adegan yang merefleksikan emosi tersebut. Melalui pendekatan ini, peneliti berupaya memahami bagaimana teknik sinematografi dapat memengaruhi persepsi penonton terhadap karakter dan pengalaman emosional yang berkembang sepanjang narasi. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam pemahaman mengenai bagaimana teknik sinematografi dapat memperdalam pengalaman emosional penonton serta meningkatkan dampak visual terhadap narasi film. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini tidak hanya memperluas wawasan dalam bidang sinematografi, tetapi juga berpotensi menjadi referensi berharga bagi pembuat film dalam menciptakan karya yang lebih bermakna dan efektif, serta memberikan inspirasi untuk penelitian lebih lanjut di bidang ini.

This study aims to explore the modes of expression in the relationship between three family roles presented in the film Take The Reins. The main focus of this study is on the application of cinematographic techniques, including dynamic camera movement, the use of the rule of thirds, and low-key lighting, to depict the emotional dynamics between the main characters. The film highlights the theme of social relationships within a family, emphasizing the tensions arising between the father, son, and grandfather, which are caused by the authoritarian parenting style implemented by Hendra, the father, towards his son, Damar. By adopting a qualitative approach and a practice-led research method, this study not only analyzes visual elements such as image composition, camera movement, and lighting but also involves the creative process in crafting Scenes that reflect these emotions. Through this approach, the researcher seeks to understand how cinematographic techniques can influence the audience's perception of the characters and the emotional experiences that develop throughout the narrative.It is hoped that the results of this research will make a significant contribution to understanding how cinematographic techniques can deepen the emotional experience of the audience and enhance the visual impact on the film's narrative. Overall, this research not only expands knowledge in the field of cinematography but also has the potential to serve as a valuable reference for filmmakers in creating more meaningful and effective works, as well as providing inspiration for further research in this area.
