Penelitian ini menganalisis peran modal sosial dalam menjaga eksistensi Komunitas Onthel Tegalega Eksis (OTG Eksis) di Kota Bandung. Komunitas ini terbentuk pada tahun 2021 dan beranggotakan pecinta sepeda onthel yang berupaya melestarikan nilai budaya serta eksistensi sepeda onthel di tengah modernisasi dan menurunnya minat masyarakat perkotaan terhadap onthel. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teori modal sosial milik Robert Putnam untuk mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur modal sosial seperti kepercayaan, jaringan sosial, dan norma yang berkembang di dalam komunitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modal sosial berperan penting dalam membangun solidaritas, memperkuat relasi antaranggota, serta menjadi strategi utama dalam mempertahankan eksistensi komunitas dan sepeda onthel sebagai warisan budaya. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan ilmu sosial, khususnya terkait aksi kolektif dan pelestarian komunitas berbasis hobi tradisional.

This study analyzes the role of social capital in maintaining the existence of the Onthel Tegalega Eksis Community (OTG Eksis) in the city of Bandung. This community was formed in 2021 and consists of onthel bicycle lovers who seek to preserve cultural values and the existence of onthel bicycles in the midst of modernization and declining urban people's interest in onthel. This study uses a qualitative approach with Robert Putnam's theory of social capital to identify the elements of social capital such as beliefs, social networks, and norms that develop within the community. The results of the study show that social capital plays an important role in building solidarity, strengthening relationships between members, and being the main strategy in maintaining the existence of communities and bicycles as cultural heritage. This research is expected to contribute to the development of social sciences, especially related to collective action and community preservation based on traditional hobbies.
