Abstract

Tugas akhir pengkaryaan ini berfokus pada penerapan teknik spiral fabric dan beading
dalam penciptaan evening gown dengan inspirasi green peafowl. Green peafowl
merupakan fauna endemik Indonesia yang terancam punah. Keunikan ekor
berdasarkan bentuk visual warna bulunya yang menyimpan potensi estetis sebagai
sumber inspirasi yang belum banyak dieksplorasi khususnya dalam penciptaan
evening gown dengan penerapan teknik spiral fabric dan beading dalam konteks karya
ilmiah. Tujuan pengkaryaan ini adalah mempresentasikan bentuk visual warna bulu
green peafowl kedalam rancangan evening gown melaui penerapan teknik spiral fabric
dan beading . Metode penciptaan menggunakan “kreasi artistik” Dharsono, yang
mencangkup tiga tahapan yaitu tahap eksperimen, perenungan, dan pembentukan.
Hasil penciptaan karya berupa tiga (3) looks evening gown yang disajikan dalam
bentuk fashion show pada event Grand Fashion Internasional (GFI) tahun 2025.
Penciptaan karya ini diharapkan dapat menjadi inspirasi bagi mahasiswa fashion
design dalam ranah akademis serta membuka peluang inovasi desain berbasis budaya
sehingga memperkaya desain fashion Indonesia dalam menciptakan busana yang
bernilai seni tinggi dan relevan untuk tren fashion masa kini.

This final project focuses on the application of spiral fabric and beading techniques
in the creation of evening gowns inspired by the green peafowl. The green peafowl is
an endemic Indonesian fauna that is currently threatened with extinction. The
uniqueness of its tail, particularly in terms of the visual form and coloration of its
feathers, presents significant aesthetic potential as a source of inspiration that has not
been widely explored, especially in the creation of evening gowns employing spiral
fabric and beading techniques within an academic context. The objective of this
project is to present the visual form and color of green peafowl feathers in evening
gown designs through the application of spiral fabric and beading techniques. The
creative process adopts Dharsono’s “artistic creation” method, which consists of
three stages: experimentation, contemplation, and formation. The outcome of this
project is three (3) evening gown looks presented in a fashion show at the Grand
Fashion International (GFI) event in 2025. This creative work is expected to serve as
an inspiration for fashion design students in the academic field and to open
opportunities for design innovation based on cultural and natural heritage, thereby
enriching Indonesian fashion design through the creation of garments with high
artistic value and relevance to contemporary fashion trends.
