Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tubuh pengalaman dan pengalaman
tubuh ketiga perempuan crossdress anime dalam cosplay di Jakarta dengan
menggunakan konsep subjek nomadik yang kemukakan oleh Deleuza dan Guattari,
Rosi Braidotti, dan James Clifford. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini
adalah metode penelitian kualitatif untuk mengumpulkan data dari ketiga informan
yang juga merupakan subjek dari penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah
analisis deskriptif mengenai (1) Pengalaman crossdress saat mengenakan atribut
kostum karakter tokoh fiksi laki-laki saat ada event kecil maupun besar; (2) Hasrat
cosplayer peremuan saat berkelana; dan (3) Perempuan memaknai dirinya saat
crossdress. Fenomena female-to-male dalam cosplay anime tersebut dipengaruhi
oleh aliran lain seperti kepercayaan agama, konstruksi sosial perempuan, pelecehan
seksual, pembatasan sosial, kesehatan mental, dan komunitas ragam gender. Oleh
karena itu tubuh sebagai ‘ruang’ telah memproduksi diri karena telah menjalin
relasi dengan aliran lain.

This study aims to describe the body of experience and embodied experiences of
tree female anime crossdressers in cosplay in Jakarta, using the concept of the
nomadic subject proposed by Deleuza and Guattari, Rosi Braidotti, and James
Clifford. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method to collect
data from the three informants, who also serve as the subject of the research. The
results of this study consist of a descriptive analysis of: (1) crossdressing
experiences when wearing costume attributes of fictional male characters at both
small- and large-scale events; (2) the desires of female cosplayers while
wandering; and (3) how women interpret themselves while crossdressing. The
phenomenon of female-to male representation in anime cosplay is influenced by
other flows such as religious beliefs, constructions of womanhood, sexual
harassment, social restrictions, mental health, and gender-diverse communities.
Therefore, the body as “space” has produced the self through establishing relations
with other flows.
