Description

Infinity Gamebang merupakan komposisi musik yang berangkat
dari upaya mentransformasi motif single paradiddle—yang umumnya
digunakan sebagai pola latihan teknik dasar drum—menjadi tema musikal
dalam format ensambel carumba. Proses penciptaan didasarkan pada
eksplorasi teknik motive development, meliputi augmentasi ritmik,
truncation, fragmentation, sinkopasi, serta penerapan gaya permainan
interlocking dan call and response. Motif single paradiddle dikembangkan
menjadi berbagai varian ritmis dan teks-tural yang kemudian dirangkai ke
dalam bentuk musik binary form. Karya ini memanfaatkan tangga nada D
minor pentatonik, tempo bervariasi (moderato–allegro), serta kombinasi
simple dan compound meter untuk memperkaya struktur ritmis. Secara
keseluruhan, Infinity Gamebang menghadirkan karakter musik yang
perkusif dan ritmikal, sekaligus menunjukkan potensi transformasi
rudiment sebagai sumber penciptaan komposisi baru.

Infinity Gamebang is a musical composition that begins with an attempt
to transform the single paradiddle motif—commonly used as a practice pattern for
basic drumming techniques—into a musical theme in a carumba ensemble format.
The creation process is based on the exploration of motive development techniques,
including rhythmic augmentation, truncation, fragmentation, syncopation, and
the application of interlocking and call-and-response playing styles. The single
paradiddle motif is developed into various rhythmic and textural variations, which
are then arranged into a binary musical form. This work utilizes the D minor
pentatonic scale, varying tempos (moderato–allegro), and a combination of simple
and compound meters to enrich the rhythmic structure. Overall, Infinity
Gamebang presents a percussive and rhythmic musical character, while also
demonstrating the potential of rudiment transformation as a source for creating
new compositions.
