- Film pendek memiliki peran penting dalam dunia perfilman sebagai medium ekspresi kreatif, film pendek mampu menyampaikan gagasan kompleks, kritik sosial, serta pesan-pesan emosional secara efektif dan efisien. Penelitian ini mengangkat film pendek What They Don’t Know About Me yang mengusung isu pelecehan seksual sebagai bentuk kampanye sosial. Melalui pendekatan naratif yang emosional dan sinematografi yang kuat, film ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan dampak psikologis, sosial, dan hukum yang dialami korban. Hasil penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana strategi co- production, promosi, dan distribusi berkontribusi terhadap kesuksesan film pendek di tengah persaingan industri film yang kian ketat. Co-production, atau kerja sama dalam produksi, menjadi salah satu strategi utama yang memungkinkan produser untuk menggabungkan sumber daya, jaringan, dan keahlian sehingga meningkatkan kualitas produksi tanpa membebani biaya secara sepihak. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tantangan dan peluang yang dihadapi produser. Produser film pendek menghadapi keterbatasan dana dan visibilitas, namun memiliki peluang besar untuk menyampaikan pesan kuat dan menjangkau publik global melalui strategi produksi kolaboratif dan distribusi adaptif. Kesimpulannya, promosi yang kreatif, terutama melalui media sosial dan festival film, mampu meningkatkan eksposur dan daya tarik film pendek di mata publik. Distribusi digital membuka peluang luas bagi film pendek untuk menjangkau audiens global, meskipun produser tetap menghadapi tantangan dalam hal pendanaan, persaingan konten, dan akses jaringan distribusi.
- Short films play a vital role in the world of cinema as a medium of creative expression. They are capable of conveying complex ideas, social criticism, and emotional messages effectively and efficiently. This study highlights the short film What They Don’t Know About Me, which raises the issue of sexual harassment as a form of social campaign. Through an emotional narrative approach and strong cinematography, the film aims to raise public awareness of the psychological, social, and legal impacts experienced by victims. The results of this study examine how co-production, promotion, and distribution strategies contribute to the success of short films amid the increasingly competitive film industry. Co-production, or collaborative production, is one of the key strategies that enables producers to combine resources, networks, and expertise, thus improving production quality without bearing costs unilaterally. This research also identifies the challenges and opportunities faced by producers. Short film producers face limited funding and visibility, but they have great opportunities to deliver powerful messages and reach a global audience through collaborative production and adaptive distribution strategies. In conclusion, creative promotion—especially through social media and film festivals—can enhance the exposure and appeal of short films to the public. Digital distribution provides broad opportunities for short films to reach global audiences, although producers still face challenges in funding, content competition, and access to distribution networks.
